Diamond Tennis Bracelet
Is my real tennis bracelet?
I recently acquired a heritage that I am a little unsure. Tennis bracelet is a gem 1/8-Karat-cut "diamonds" (not sure if they are real) that are mounted in "gold" (do not know if this is real either.) I have seen the gold and nowhere is engraved with the carat, the that probably means it's fake, right? It also has the number "925" on it, which I have said is an indication of the pound. (?) Since diamonds are so small, it is very difficult to tell whether they are real or not, although I've tried. Clouds are too deep to see if it can be scratched with sandpaper, and because I do not want them out of their supports, the "newspaper" test is not really an option. The bracelet, real or not, is in pretty bad conditions. Can not say if it is a replica of misleading, or just unbelievably cheap. Any advice would be awesome. Thank you!
Many affordable tennis bracelets are made of sterling silver with gold wash called Vermeil. (Vermay) and set with CZ. That may be the case, because of the mark 925. Go to a jeweler and ask family about the bracelet and to review their "diamonds" for you. Most likely, the will to correct if it was CZ. The jeweler will clean for you, too.
