Emerald Diamond Earrings
He lied to impress me and I'm not sure if that makes it a "white lie"?
My boyfriend's best friend died and he was left the estate. He asked me to look through the things to see if there was anything I wanted. I noticed there was a brand new in the box gold bracelet. Also, there were diamond and emerald earrings. There was one other thing too, but I don't recall what. Anyhow, the other day he told me he bought me present. He gave me the bracelet! I asked what it was for and he said, "just cuz I was thinkin' about you." I asked when he bought it and he said yesterday. but I had seen the bracelet 2 months prior. I'm not sure how to feel about it. Do I feel upset that he lied? Or do I let it go because he did it to make me feel special and because he wanted to impress me?
I should add...the reason I didn't take them when he asked me to look through the stuff and see what I wanted is because I would have felt greedy taking something so expensive. I was kind of hoping he would come across them and give me them. I just didn't expect him to lie.
If it were me personally, I would have to say something to him that I knew he didnt buy it. Yes its sweet of him to give you something but not covering it up with a lie. Thats just going to make you wonder if hes "white lying" about other things that he says or does. Just bring it up to him that you remember seeing it or casually say to him hey this looks like that one bracelet or something like that. Good luck to you :^)
