Where can I get more information about vintage jewelry and Rolex watches?
I have a vintage Rolex ladies dress watch. It's nothing like the clocks Modern Rolex I found. It has a rectangular face and a soft, flexible Solid Gold Ring. I also have a Rolex goldbracelet tissue has flowers on it, made of pearls and rose cut diamonds. Both pieces have been authenticated, but I know much more than that.

The Napoleon diamond necklace is a diamond necklace commissioned by Napoleon I of France c. 1811-1812. He is currently on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, USA.
<a href = " href = "http://www.himfr.com/buy-tin_liners/"> http://www.himfr.com/buy-tin_liners/ "> tin shirts </ a> collar Napoleon diamond is composed of 28 mine-cut diamonds set in a single thread, with a strip of alternating and pendeloque briolette cut diamonds. The five pear-shaped pendoloques each mounted underneath a small brilliant-cut diamonds. The four pendeloque Ovalino are mounted on the designs that incorporates 23 brilliant-cut diamonds each. Each assembly briolette set with 12 rose cut diamonds.
While the diamond necklace jewelry of Napoleon never been professionally qualified by a lapidary (since they have never been removed from their frames), the analysis of infrared spectroscopy has shown that diamonds are mainly of type Ia. However, 13 of the 52 largest diamonds in the necklace are of the rare variety of type IIa. Several of the Type Ia diamonds show indications of sulphide crystal imperfections.
In 1810, Napoleon I of France Josphine divorced the Empress, as it proved unable to produce an heir. [4] He remarried two months later to the Archduchess Marie Louise of Austria. Within a year, Marie Louise gave birth to a son. To celebrate, in June 1811 Napoleon I commissioned the Napoleon Diamond Necklace Jewelry Company Nitot et Fils in Paris, at a cost of 376,274 French francs. [3] This amount is equivalent to the total budget of the annual household empress. [5] There several contemporary portraits of Maria Luisa, bringing the Napoleon Diamond Necklace, including a number of artists by Giovan Battista Borghesi Grardand Franois. Several years later, in 1815, Napoleon was exiled to St. Helena. Marie Louise returned to Austria with the necklace, and owned it until his death.
A Marie Louise's death in 1847, the necklace passed to the Archduchess Sophie of Austria, the wife of his nephew Franz Karl of Austria. Two diamonds were removed from the collar for short, at the request of the Princess Sophia. These diamonds were mounted in a pair of earrings, the location is now unknown. [5] After the death of Sophie, in 1872, Napoleon Diamond Necklace jointly inherited by their three surviving sons, Archduke Karl Ludwig, Louis Victor, and Francis Joseph of Austria. Karl Ludwig later acquired its shares on the collar brethren, and after his death in 1914 passed to his third wife, Maria Teresa of Portugal [3].
At the beginning of the Great Depression in 1929, Maria Teresa hired two people posing as "Colonel Townsend" and "Princess Baronti" to sell the necklace U.S. $ 450,000. Realizing that current economic conditions that make it nearly impossible to reach the sale price, the couple began offering $ 100,000 Signing of the Archduke Leopold of Austria, nephew of Maria Teresa indigent, to meet the collar of authenticity. Deals were negotiated with jewelers Harry Winston and Harry Berenson But the couple finally sold the necklace to David Michel of New York for $ 60,000, of which the couple claimed $ 53,730 as expenses. When informed of sale, Maria Theresa took the matter to court, eventually resulting in the recovery of the necklace, the imprisonment of the Archduke Leopold, and the flight of Townsend and Baronti authorities.
After resolving the incident, Maria Theresa held the collar until his death in 1944. Four years later, the Family of the Habsburgs sold to industrial Frenchman Paul-Louis Weiller. In 1960, sold the necklace Weiller Napoleon diamonds at Harry Winston, who believed that the historical value of the piece that is more valuable than if the stones were removed and resold separately, as was customary at that time. [9] As such, remained intact, resale of same year Marjorie Merriweather Post. Post donated the necklace to the Smithsonian Institution in 1962 and has since remained on display at the National Museum of Natural History Washington, DC, USA.
