White Gold Hoop
What Do I Do With This Gift?
Here's the short version. Prior to Christmas I bought my then gf a pair of white gold hoop earring with diamonds in them. I wanted her to have them because for one I loathe the pair that she wears, and second, my gf deserves nothing but the best. Around that time we had a major spat and we split, I bought her a couple of other gifts and gave those to her, but held on to the earrings. I planned to give them to her this Valentine's day but, as luck would have it, we're not together anymore, and I don't plan on reuniting with her anytime in the future. I feel awkward about returning the earrings to the store, and I am most certainly not about to give her this pricey duo. I've thought about donating them to charity, or giving them to someone, but there's something about giving someone a gift that you intended for someone else that does not sit well with me. I dont wear hoops, so I wont be wearing them. If you were me, what is the most creative thing you would do to dispose them?
Wow, lots of 'stuff' here. I think it more awkward to GIVE them away than Return them to the store. Why? because when you bought them they had a certain 'energy' with them, your intent. There is no one else they 'belong' to. So, either give them to the intended OR cross the threshold of the door, to the store. Chalk it all up to a larger lesson. At least you still have them to return, you did not give them away B4 splitting! The trick will be to NOT buy something for yourself with the money you have refunded, as it has an 'energy signature' as mentioned already.
